Wimpy Wonderland Announced

The latest Poptropica island has been announced and it will be called Wimpy Wonderland. This new island will feature many characters of the popular Diary of a Wimpy Kid series, written by Jeff Kinney, who is also the creator of Poptropica! The island is drawn in the same style as the books and is all in black and white except for your Poptropican. You can go check out a sneak peek of the island right now. It’s in the middle of the main map and you’ll also get a special card in your backpack the next time you login that will let you go right there.

Members can check back in in the middle of March for more stuff. This might mean it will be released to paid members very soon!

Wild West Island Has Arrived

Danger in the Mine
There's danger down there deep in the underground mine.

Wild West Island arrived in Poptropica this past week, but it’s only available to paid members for now. If you’re a paid member, you can access it on your map. It’s a big adventure through several small towns in the West. You become marshal and have to track down El Mustachio Grande, a mean and terrible bandit who has been causing trouble for all the citizens of the island. Check out the walkthrough for tips on how to beat Wild West Island.

Even though it’s only available for paid members right now, everyone will get to play in March when it opens for the public.

Wild West Island Sneak Preview

Poptropica Wild West Island Sneak Peek

Poptropica announced that the newest island is going to be called Wild West Island and now there’s a special sneak preview available on the main travel map in Poptropica. When you go there you have to play a game called Round ‘Em Up where you try to rope and corral three cattle in your ranch within a time limit. You have 2:30 to get three cattle inside the pen. I thought this game was very difficult at first but then I kind of got the hang of things and now it’s pretty easy to do.

There are seven prizes in all and they change every two days so you need to keep coming back to play if you want to collect all seven prizes. Most of them are cowboy style gear, of course!

Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2 Ad

I saw a new advertisement mission when I was goofing around on Mythology Island today. It’s called Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2 and you will see it on Main Street on most of the islands. Go inside the building and talk to the dog on the left. Then you will get 60 seconds to try and find all five of the puppies inside the house. When you find all five within the time limit you win and will get the prize. The prize is a special Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2 follower.

Cryptids Island Coming Next Week

Poptropica Cryptids Island Finish
The end of Cryptids Island in Poptropica

So members have been able to play Cryptids Island for a while, but everyone will get to play the island on Tuesday, January 18. I am putting the finishing touches on my Cryptids Island Walkthrough right now. It will have all the Cryptids Island cheats and tips to show you how to beat Cryptids Island easily. This was a very fun island but it took a really long time to play because of all the back and forth traveling you have to do. It was easily the longest quest in Poptropica so far.

Finding all the Cryptids was pretty easy and so was the final battle at the end. This wasn’t tough boss fight like most of the other islands that Poptropica has released lately.

Gulliver’s Travels Ad

Gulliver's Travels in Poptropica

You can see a new advertisement on most of the islands in Poptropica. It’s for the new movie Gulliver’s Travels. There’s a video screen on Main Street. Go up to it and click on it to play the movie trailer. If you watch the whole trailer you will get a special item in your backpack called the Grow N’ Shirnk. Activate it to switch between being bigger than normal and smaller than normal.

Sneak Peek of Cryptids Island

There is a now a special sneak preview of Cryptids Island for everyone in Poptropica. It’s officially called the Search for Nessie Island Preview. You can visit Loch Ness, the famous lake in Scotland. This is where Nessie, the Loch Ness monster, is said to live.

There are a few things to do in the sneak preview. You can meet all the people here. Most of them are tourists who are trying to spot Nessie. The first two guys on the dock when you arrive have different opinions on where to look. If you head up to the hillside where the castle is, you can try to spot Nessie yourself through the viewfinder. You get one chance per day to win a prize by finding here.

You can also explore a little in this one place. I liked going to the top of the castle where you can hang out next to the flag. There’s also a nerdy looking guy up there. It’s the same castle that was in the sneak peek screenshot from a few weeks ago.

They haven’t said when the island will be released, but it will be available for paid members first and then everyone else a few weeks later. It looks like a lot of fun to play!

Cryptids Island Info

The Poptropica Creators made an official announcement today in the blog about Cryptids Island. They confirmed the name and posted a new info page that tells the background story of the island. It’s all about an eccentric billionaire who is going to give a huge reward to anyone who can find the mysterious hidden beasts like Bigfoot, Nessie and others. You’ll be in competition with other people who are searching for them as well. The island doesn’t have a launch date yet, but it says coming soon for (paid) members. So we’ll probably see it very soon!

If you look closely at the screenshots, you’ll see a huge mansion with a helicopter. This is obviously the billionaire’s house. It looks sweet! There is also some museum or something inside the mansion, a gas station, and some pen with freaky looking creatures in it. It all looks really cool and I can’t wait for Cryptids Island to be released!

Daily Pop

There is a cool and mysterious new message on the main Poptropica board about something called the Daily Pop. It’s a new feature that is coming soon to Poptropica. As usual the creators aren’t giving us many details but it sounds kind of exciting and obviously it will be something that happens every day which is very cool. Especially since Poptropica doesn’t update very often. I looked closely at the screenshot and it sounds like it might be a feature in the blog instead of the game. Look really closely and there are images of comic strips and a picture of Shark Boy holding a pencil. So maybe we will get comic strips in the blog every day or something like that. We will have to wait and see I guess.
